Monday, June 8, 2009 - Credit Reports on Your Job Applicants?
Many employers request credit reports for some categories of job applicants. This is a legal request, as long as the applicant has authorized it in writing by signing a document that's part of your job application packet. What's important to know is that these reports are created solely for employment purposes only. That is, they are a bit different than the report a lender or credit grantor would see. These reports DO NOT have a credit score. And for your applicants, such a request is considered a 'soft inquiry,' and would not impact their future credit activities. LABORCHEX can provide such reports, and results are available in moments.
