Although we are one big country with 50 states, there really isn't consistency among the states regarding how they issue and maintain driving records.
- Some states have 'point' systems for violations. Others do not.
- Some states keep offenses like DUIs on a record forever. Others remove such details after only 3 years.
- Some states do not require any new vision testing when licenses are renewed.
- Some states can wait months to actually enter offense data on a report. Therefore, your person could have a violation and you may not know about it.
